The Story Behind The Songs
Nite Run feat. Nelly’s Echo is an upbeat pop rock dance track. To me the song is about chasing one’s dream. Letting the world know that you’re coming to capture that dream & nothing is going to stop you.
Maybe Someday feat. Marisa Frantz is a song about loss. Loss of a loved one, loss of a relationship. Loss of oneself. It’s also a song about hope. Hope that one day you will find some normalcy. You will find a way to survive & carry on.
Make a Wish feat. Vicu is your typical boy meets girl story. Boy is wildly in love & sees his whole future in front of him. The girl has been hurt many times & is hesitant. He’s trying to prove to her that he will be there forever. That she’s the one.
Falling Up feat. Art Auré is based off the book “Falling Upward” by Richard Rohr. Even though we go through many struggles & life & may hit rock bottom at time, that through these lessons we actually are falling higher. We are heading in an upwardly direction towards being a better person & reaching the highest of highs.
Life’s Little Accident’s feat. Erik Fredriksen is about the mystery of life. How we are connected together. The kinship of all living things. How life & creation is no accident. We are meant to be here. All of us are tied together. The kindship of all living things in the universe. There are so many things we can’t understand.
Rear View feat. Natalie Jean is about how when we are in a difficult situation whether it’s an illness or bad relationship, we can’t see ourselves ever getting past it. How will I survive? How am I going to make it? I’m not strong enough. All thoughts we can’t see. Then one day we look back & we made it through. We are no longer that person. We are better for going through it. We are no longer living in that moment. We are only looking ahead. We have put that time, place in the rear view.
No You, No Me feat. Erik Fredriksen & Juliet Lyons tells the story about someone in your life who touched you greatly during the toughest times in your life. That person is no longer in your life for whatever reason yet made such a positive impact & was so helpful that all you want to do is thank them for being so selfless. You could never repay them.
Shed My Skin feat. Juliet Lyons deals with my cancer and epilepsy battle. I was very sick with Stage 4 colon cancer. It was a major challenge that I faced & I was determined to beat it. The cancer was eating me up inside. I didn’t feel well. It was a difficult time. It wasn’t easy & I just wanted to shed myself of all of the sickness & just get back to living & seeing all the great things in life. Being the person I was & I knew life would get better.
What You Do feat. Nathan Nasby is another in the lines of boy is in love with girl tale. All that matters is this woman to him. He can’t live without her because he loves her more than anything & he can’t stop telling her.
Fly Away feat. Marisa Frantz is about the end of a relationship. Hurt deeply from the cut of losing someone you’ve been with for a long time. Some people care or pretend to care that you are hurting, while others just don’t. They form their own opinions or listen to only one person & will think what they want & you can’t control that. The town you had lived in & the people who live there really weren’t your friends or actually cared about you. So you pick up the pieces because you have no choice & you “fly away” from them all.
